Hi, I’m J. Ahmir, better known as 2AM Ricky, a distinguished social influencer and trans rights activist renowned ​for my profound global impact in challenging misconceptions surrounding mental health, reproductive justice, ​and the transgender experience. Through collaborative efforts with educators, community leaders, and industry ​experts, I leverage my platform to uplift marginally perceived communities and amplify LGBTQ+ advocacy in ​media, significantly enhancing trans awareness through powerful storytelling.

Named a 2024 Forbes BLKHistory Maker, I play a pivotal role in shaping brand strategy, strategic creative ​direction, and social development for queer and gender-expansive creatives, as well as leading nonprofits. My ​expertise spans defining language and best practices for transgender healthcare and education, intersectionality, ​inclusive strategies, diversity in marketing, and mental health within the music industry.

With a focus on social media marketing, strategic communications, and digital ​engagement, I excel in graphic design, team leadership, project management, ​and brand identity. My collaborations include influential organizations such as ​Lambda Legal, GLAAD, BEAM and notable figures like CeCe Peniston and ​Tyler Perry Studios. I have been featured in Women’s Health, Revolt BLK ​News, The Pit London, Noisescape, and BLAVITY for my expertise, leadership, ​and impact on music and pop culture.

In my career, I have not worked with ​anyone with a better understanding of ​digital mediums, of how to connect with ​people over the internet, and how to ​put together a strategic digital plan. ​Through J. Ahmir’s leadership, we were ​able to uplift and build with a number of ​influencers and community leaders, ​impacting our digital reach with over ​three million impressions in 2023, ​establishing new partnerships with ​community organizations like Tiers Free ​Academy, and increasing BIPOC / ​TGNCNB representation at Liberty ​Awards and other development ​events.
